Working in East London
The London Borough of Havering is the part of London that borders Essex, next to the Essex districts of Brentwood, Epping Forest and Thurrock. Its main town is Romford, and it also takes in Hornchurch, Upminster, Collier Row and Rainham. Romford, Hornchurch and Upminster were historically part of Essex, and the borough is mainly suburban, with large areas of protected open space including parts of the Metropolitan Green Belt.
The main roads from Essex into East London run through Havering: the A12 near Romford, the A127, which starts at Gallows Corner, and the A13 near Rainham, with the M25 forming part of the borough’s eastern boundary. From Havering we also take on commercial work further in, across Redbridge, Barking and Dagenham, Waltham Forest and Newham.
